We, as the Designer Interviews ("DI") had the distinct pleasure and opportunity to interview award-winning, most creative and innovative Dr Aleksandar Rudnik Milanovic ("DARM").
Dr. Aleksandar Rudnik Milanovac is an architect, urbanist, interior designer, artist, writer, and photographer. His work is unique in a matter of physical structure, but at the same time, he focuses his idea on designing the architecture that functionally and physically best interpolates with the environment. Rudnik is a sculptor and painter at the same time, with the one vision, to combine the architecture and arts into one structure. He uses symbols from the urban and also from the natural environment, to create the design that could attract the spectators and users in every positive way.

Designer Interview of Dr Aleksandar Rudnik Milanovic:
DI: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
DARM : The real pathway for artist is constant upgrading of the sense for a beauty with a hard work on skills that in time will be more sharper and brighter. Since my childhood I draw a different kind of scenes from a real life, mixed with a copy from the cartoon scenery that has been published on paper. The satisfaction with those drawings spontaneous lead me to step by step to the decision to become a architectural designer.
DI: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
DARM : More than twenty years from now... 3d modeling was set up in a form that could help me to create and to see my design in every possible space angle, I start to practice architectural design in a very devoted way.
DI: What is "design" for you?
DARM : Design is a moment in time, when idea of creation came out from a pile of idea of possible solution for the creation
DI: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
DARM : Design is not a status of mind love to create something ,design is a gift to create everything that human needs in space.
DI: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
DARM : My Crane bird / Art museum that could land on all over the world
DI: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
DARM : Movable expo information unit.
DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
DARM : Steel, concrete, glass, fibre re-inforced plastic, composite and wood panels.
DI: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
DARM : Organic and sculptural form of designe.
DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
DARM : Good divine vibration becouse of making something, that will have a purpose as an object , and that could in the same time produce a good vibration for everyone that could feel that positive energy.
DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
DARM : Joy that the process of my design, could establish the communication with a real environment.
DI: What makes a design successful?
DARM : The happiness of the people who could enjoy just to look or to use the space that I design.
DI: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
DARM : There is no good, or bad design , just the design that provoke or don't provoke the spectators .
DI: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
DARM : A great one.
DI: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
DARM : With a new materials ... but evolving couldn't happen, without an a good idea.
DI: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?
DARM : In London in Vauxhall park...My next maybe in some gallery in Milano in Italy and Belgrade in Serbia off course.
DI: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
DARM : LOVE in every magic way...
DI: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
DARM : RUDNIK style ...
DI: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
DARM : In Kragujevac / Serbia. My place for living could be everywhere on earth, but the Serbia and my hometown Kragujevac, has a great people and the nature enviroment and it is well enough, for a good design inspiration so far...
DI: How do you work with companies?
DARM : One-off contracts
DI: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?

DI: Can you talk a little about your design process?
DARM : step by step , until the design itself has stopped to ask for another one step...
DI: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?
DARM : Lounge chair,table,lamp,sofa,kitchen as a full designe items.
DI: Can you describe a day in your life?
DARM : Enjoying in time that I could spend with my wife and daughter, who gives me the positive energy and inspiration for good working conditions and the chance to design something new and beautiful.
DI: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
DARM : First you look and "read" the masters design piece of art, to feel the energy and a path for creation , and when you feel inside that is the time to start ...create your own design with one special note... that the time for designing process is always in a comparative mode with the quality of the design itself.
DI: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?
DARM : There is no negative way...the designing process is gods will , that's always results with a good cause.
DI: What is your "golden rule" in design?
DARM : Do what you feel that is right to do ... and listen to your alter ego.
DI: What skills are most important for a designer?
DARM : Computer skills just as an old school design with a paper and pencil.
DI: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?
DARM : Emotions, pencil, paper (for read and for write), computer.
DI: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time?
DARM : when the design is in the right hands , there is always a time for everything
DI: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?
DARM : Depends on a task, but always in time that could be expected .

DARM : I enjoy in every type of design that is based on needs for an architectural creation
DI: What are your future plans? What is next for you?
DARM : A new design creation for a new interesting people and spaces
DI: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
DARM : My design rises mostly as "me myself and J" production from beginning till the end but... it is always easier to work with a good team of professionals

DARM : Redesigne of my "TESLODROM" project / The designe for the Centre for Promotion of Sciences in Belgrade
