Designer Interview of Ran Tian:

DI: What is "design" for you?

RT : Design is a solution and a concern for users.

DI: What was the first thing you designed for a company?

RT : Our own office space.

DI: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?

RT : Pay more attention to the relationship between functionality and users, and how to make users comfortable and safe.

DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?

RT : A project can be completely restored, in fact, it has to go through a very complex process. So when a work is really restored according to our original idea, we are still very excited and grateful at the same time. Because a good project is completed not only by the design team alone, but also by Party A who trusts and cooperates with you, the construction party and the materials and resources. So it should be very exciting, just like the excitement of the birth of their own children. At the same time, they will give hope to this project, hope it has a longer life force, and hope it has a better extension and development.

DI: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?

RT : The first thing to consider is to start from the function, or whether the design is easy to use, rather than good-looking, or how dazzling it is. I think the focus of the design itself is still people-oriented, user-oriented, and it must be easy to use.

DI: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?

RT : Design inspiration is more from life, and some of the past experience, experience, and also from the project itself will get some different inspiration. Because different projects actually have different project backgrounds and attributes, just like everyone has their own personality. So there are many ways to get inspiration. In fact, it's more a little bit in life. It's possible to get inspiration from one object or one thing. To cultivate our own creativity, we need to see more, understand the world, be good at observation and exploration. Beauty is always there. Beauty is in every bit of your life scene. But you need to have a pair of eyes to find beauty. I think this is the uniqueness of everyone. You need to ensure that your creative inspiration is not exhausted, and you need to constantly update and tap your inner potential.

DI: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?

RT : In fact, I prefer cross-border design, such as art, photography and product design. I like product design very much, because product design can pay more attention to people's individual and bring more intuitive feelings to users. If you have the opportunity to try to make a product closer to people and you can use it yourself, it must be very interesting.

DI: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?

RT : Team design, we have a very good team.
