DI: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?

Autobahn : Autobahn is a Dutch creative studio located in Haarlem and Rotterdam. The studio was founded in 2005 by creative directors Rob Stolte and Maarten Dullemeijer. As a design partner we commit ourselves to creating playful, intelligent and beautifully crafted projects for all platforms and all audiences. Autobahn pursues a welcoming studio culture and collaborates with a large network of specialists to realise ambitious ideas and create positive impact.

DI: What kinds of works do you like designing most?

Autobahn : Branding, identities and processes.

DI: What was the first thing you designed for a company?

Autobahn : The first sthing we designed for a company was a flyer for an art gallery.

DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?

Autobahn : I do not have a favorite platform, material or technology because I like to experiment a lot.

DI: When do you feel the most creative?

Autobahn : In the morning.

DI: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?

Autobahn : The idea that connects in a surprising way.

DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?

Autobahn : Happyness.

DI: What makes a design successful?

Autobahn : The idea that connects in a surprising way.

DI: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?

Autobahn : The idea and execution.

DI: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?

Autobahn : More inclusive design is needed.

DI: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?

Autobahn : In Düsseldorf, at an art gallery.

DI: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?

Autobahn : Books on philosophy, especially Vilém Flüsser.

DI: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?

Autobahn : Playful Analytical and typographic

DI: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?

Autobahn : Refugee talent Hub, SeederDeBoer, New Music Now, TNO.

DI: What are your future plans? What is next for you?

Autobahn : Opening a gallery in Rotterdam!

DI: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?

Autobahn : We work as a team. We for a new team for each assignment, so it fits the purpose.
