DI: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?

AWFC : I gain design diploma in Hong Kong and Canada which was my best schooling years as design is my favorable academic subject.

DI: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?

AWFC : A Design Concept was set up in 1997, we specialize in high-end commercial interior design like hotel, clubhouse, show flat etc.

DI: What is "design" for you?

AWFC : Design is to bring out the message which the client and designer want to express.

DI: What kinds of works do you like designing most?

AWFC : Any kind of commercial project, open to public, more noise and feedback from the public.

DI: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?

AWFC : We design all kinds of hotel rooms for L'Arc Macau Hotel, it is one of the most popular hotels in Macau.

DI: What was the first thing you designed for a company?

AWFC : Restaurant, Sauna, Spa.

DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?

AWFC : Natural material.

DI: When do you feel the most creative?

AWFC : Within working hours

DI: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?

AWFC : Layout and functional

DI: What makes a design successful?

AWFC : Team work.

DI: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?

AWFC : Layout, functional, atmosphere, and use of materials.

DI: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?

AWFC : Environment friendly.

DI: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?

AWFC : Design is in circular motion. It will come back after a period of time.

DI: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?

AWFC : Never exhibit.

DI: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?

AWFC : Any where, any time in my life.

DI: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?

AWFC : Best use of some special building materials.

DI: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?

AWFC : I live in Hong Kong and China, China is a developing country that we have a lot work opportunities. It likes a sponge absorbing all kinds of knowledge and ideas from the world.

DI: How do you work with companies?

AWFC : Closely working together.

DI: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?

AWFC : Hard working with passion.

DI: Can you talk a little about your design process?

AWFC : Starts from layout, sketches, perspective rendering, material selection.

DI: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?

AWFC : Designer chairs, light fixtures.

DI: Can you describe a day in your life?

AWFC : Always ready to solve problems and explore design ideas

DI: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?

AWFC : Work hard

DI: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?

AWFC : Design is a non stop industry, it changes very fast, if you want to be success, need to keep up with the pace and open the eyes widely.

DI: What is your "golden rule" in design?

AWFC : Time and work management.

DI: What skills are most important for a designer?

AWFC : Hand sketching

DI: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time?

AWFC : Sleep less

AWFC : We design all kinds of hotel rooms for L'Arc Macau Hotel, it is one of the most popular hotels in Macau.

AWFC : 5 stars hotel group management, casino owner, hotel, developer, etc.

DI: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?

AWFC : Any kind of commercial project, open to public, more noise and feedback from the public.

DI: What are your future plans? What is next for you?

AWFC : We are bidding an icon hotel in Beijing China.

DI: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?

AWFC : Our company have 20 people, we work closely together.
