Designer Interview of Alexander Michelbach:

DI: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?

AM : In every work I do, big or small, I do my best trying to make it special

DI: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?

AM : We are working to create our own company.

DI: What kinds of works do you like designing most?

AM : I like prototyping. You can test, if doesn't work, you can make a new one, get new ideas and the best, you can test it with your friends and get great feedbacks.

DI: What was the first thing you designed for a company?

AM : I think it was a T-Shirt, a lot of time ago.

DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?

AM : My favorite material is paper.

DI: When do you feel the most creative?

AM : After 18.00 Uhr, when everything runs slower at work, almost no phone calls, emails.

DI: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?

AM : I always think how the people will react when they interact with the end result.

DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?

AM : Excitment and the same time

DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?

AM : I have a feeling like, work done, results reached.

DI: What makes a design successful?

AM : When the people use it. May be the end product isn't what do you wanted at the beginning but it's what the people really need.

DI: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?

AM : First, the Handmade Beertone Logo, done with wood in Brasil. My nice Lamp vases. The Egg Opener(it's really cool)

DI: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?

AM : Usually the first drafts by my own and when I think it's good to get opinion or suggestions from friends, other designs I'm ready to present it.

DI: Do you have any works-in-progress being designed that you would like to talk about?

AM : I 'm working and planning further designs for the Beertone project, not only printing products but also furniture and gadgets.
