We, as the Designer Interviews ("DI") had the distinct pleasure and opportunity to interview award-winning, most creative and innovative Mariela Calvé ("MC").

Mariela Calvé: Organic Fit Mariela Calvé think the design from the elements summation. Attach dissimilar coordinate scans for achieving surround natural creation with human components calculated. Designer Interview of Mariela Calvé:

DI: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?

MC : I like to design practical, functional things, with great aesthetic value. Have some grace, something more to discover. I like to create surprise and fascination. Yes, always I want to be a designer.

DI: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?

MC : My company is small, we are few but we work hard and are effective. We like to work in a pleasant climate of cordiality and respect. We have people who have metier in his hands, and that can translate my ideas into reality. In just a couple of days my sketches and drawings to molds and then go to well-defined prototypes. We like to be practical and decisive.

DI: What is "design" for you?

MC : The design is the tool that makes life much easier.

DI: What was the first thing you designed for a company?

MC : Handbag PLI

DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?

MC : Organic Vegetable Leather, canvas, fabrics, láser cut.

DI: When do you feel the most creative?

MC : When I travel.

DI: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?

MC : The practical función.

DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?

MC : Happiness

MC : A lot happiness

DI: What makes a design successful?

MC : If that Design sell well.

DI: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?

MC : The functionality and morphology applied

DI: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?

MC : The community of designers have a large responsibility when designing new products, technologies and production systems. The environment is in crisis and it is extremely important to consider. Should consider both the material used, the production process applied and the subsequent disposal of the product after their useful life. In this sense we have developed an alternative material. It is organic but with a much friendlier process of tanning leather. We use vegetable tannins and we give well-defined color.

DI: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?

MC : I think more and more companies are applying the design strategy to become more innovative. Thus profitability will be increasingly affected by the degree of innovation that each operator. It is a trend for several years, the design it makes a big difference in this regard.

DI: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?

MC : My last exhibition was in New York, USA, and I enjoyed it. I've never been to Europe and I think my designs can be very well received there. I would love to introduce myself to some important trade fair somewhere in Europe.

DI: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?

MC : I love to be inspired by the organic forms of nature and poetry combine them with geometry. I like the symmetry and the simple and ergonomic lines. I'm passionate about a product can have more than one possibility and that the client be surprised learning to use those resources.

DI: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?

MC : My design style is geometric, with much use of mathematics. The productovo process is simple use cutting and folding. The uniqueness is that many products may be used with each other, combining parts of the same, and generating collections together. It is timeless and dynamic at the same time.

DI: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?

MC : I live in Argentina and here in this country has a rich heritage of art and design. Great designers and artists have emerged from here. I'm heavily influenced by architecture and I see reflected in each of my designs. The cons I find is that there is a great plan of action and economic support from the public sector to accompany new talent and increase the design plan for businesses and economic growth strategy.

DI: How do you work with companies?

MC : Overall, the design is undervalued companies, but the most innovative have already discovered they have much more potential to incorporate it as long-term strategy.

DI: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?

MC : It is very important to check the portfolio of the designer, his proposal, flexibility to your own style and above all, their ability to listen and find the best tools to achieve the product the customer needs. The customers often do not know exactly what they need, but know they must sell more and better. Designer's work show different tools and applying them to demonstrate their improvement.

DI: Can you talk a little about your design process?

MC : The design process I use is simple ... only drawing what comes out of my imagination, I'm charting materials and then move on to the prototyping stage.

DI: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?

MC : For home super important I think the table and chairs to eat daily. It's the place to share family and friends. It should be comfortable and functional. I also like looking sofas, games for kids and options to save the items in the kitchen.
