We, as the Designer Interviews ("DI") had the distinct pleasure and opportunity to interview award-winning, most creative and innovative Junghye Yoon ("JY").

We are committed to creating something that will make parents at ease and children happy. Honeydew Rabbit means 'a rabbit wearing the rind of an white honeydew melon on its head'. The color white signifies children's pure hearts, while the rabbit wearing the melon on its head symbolizes children's simple-mindedness.

DI: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
JY : Junghye Yoon was born in Seoul, Korea in 1982. I received my B.A. in Domus Academy, Milan in 2008. Since 2005, I have shown my work in many group exhibitions nationally and internationally. I founded Honeydew Rabbit Co.,Ltd. in 2011. What is design? What gives you a sheer happiness like a baby? I think the answer is design and creativity. I believe that the design is something that keeps a children’s imagination, and such design gives the connection with the world.
DI: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
JY : Honeydew Rabbit has children's best interests at heart and values their fun and safe experience. All Honeydew Rabbit products are designed and produced from children's perspective, by designers experienced in childcare and educators specialized in infant/toddler care.
DI: What is "design" for you?
JY : I always design for humor, sensitivity, interaction.

DI: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
JY : Customized design; Everyone is a designer.

DI: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
JY : Nature and Animal
DI: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
JY : I like to mix and match colors and use soft and flexible material. I dream of world in rounded circle not in square shape.
DI: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
JY : Koreans are humble and polite. We were raised and taught to be considerate of others, and this nature of characteristic helped to make good design for human.
DI: How do you work with companies?
JY : We are teamed with great people, the atmosphere is always enjoyable. We believe we change the world like Apple.
DI: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
JY : Person who has strong belief and values, who can express oneself well.
DI: Can you talk a little about your design process?
JY : Frame Work, Scenario, sketch, value and so on.

JY : Chair, table, rug, light, storage
