DI: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?

BR : I am a graduate of product design from Nottingham Trent University graduating in July 2014 , I have always been a creative person questioning things and wanting to invent

DI: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?

BR : N/A although I would hope to have one soon

DI: What is "design" for you?

BR : An outlet for creative expression

DI: What kinds of works do you like designing most?

BR : Furniture

DI: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?

BR : My glasses as I can see from them I am emotionally atteched to the design

DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?

BR : Favourite material to work with is wood or alabaster

DI: When do you feel the most creative?

BR : Lunch time , or when I am modelling a product

DI: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?

BR : User experience

DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?

BR : Happiness when a project is going well , frustration when a project is slow

DI: What makes a design successful?

BR : How it connects emotionally to the audience

DI: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?

BR : Does it have a particular audience does it have a need

DI: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?

BR : To be social conscious of processes as to not damage the environment more or the health and well being of others

DI: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?

BR : I think the design field is turning more to technology and 3d printing I would like to see more craft based designs emerge

DI: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?

BR : Last exhibition was new designers 2014 in London, the next exhibition will be Design Junction in September 2014 part of London Design Week

DI: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?

BR : My inspiration comes form various places , my peers and family, art and nature

DI: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?

BR : I like curves in my design , also I like my work to stand out therefore I owuld so my design style is quite bold but also risky

DI: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?

BR : England. It has a wealth of multicultural heritage that aids me in design, however it is really abroad in Scandinavia that my design inspiration comes from

DI: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?

BR : They can look at a good portfolio but most importantly companies need to find a designer whos ethos and personality fits in with them

DI: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?

BR : My glasses, my phone my pen and pencils and journal/diary

DI: Can you describe a day in your life?

BR : On a project day I wake up check emails, model in the workshop and repeat until I find a process that I am happy with although everyday is different

DI: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?

BR : Question everything and strive to push boundaries

DI: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?

BR : Its a creative laid back industry , however underpaid and work can become tedious

DI: What is your "golden rule" in design?

BR : Contrast in design be different

DI: What skills are most important for a designer?

BR : Visualisation

DI: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?

BR : Saw, Lathe , Silcone , Scalpel , Duck Taper Screwdriver . Solidworks 3ds max Rhino Autocad

DI: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time?

BR : I plan , I have a journal in which I set deadlines for myself to hit

DI: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?

BR : Approximately 4-8 weeks depending on budget and size of project

DI: What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer?

BR : How do I find inspiration

DI: What was your most important job experience?

BR : Interning for Ralston & Bau

DI: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?

BR : I like creating furniture

DI: What are your future plans? What is next for you?

BR : Gain a job or commissions to make more items, sell more items to retail

DI: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?

BR : Develop my designs by myself
