Designer Interview of Yacob Sughair:

DI: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?

YS : -I became a designer and art oriented by my DNA , My Journey started when I was a child playing with my toys using them as an elements to create new things . I had a degree in interior design from Jordan University . Jury member ( Design college - JOREDAN university ) , Art collector .

DI: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?

YS : - My company specializes in residential interior design projects In our region since 2000 and I start presented the furniture design as separated projects 2014 .

DI: What is "design" for you?

YS : - Design is all my stories, My life message to give happiness, love , and quality of life

DI: What kinds of works do you like designing most?

YS : - l am looking to design the pieces which gathering family or friends to use it as dining table , coffee table and seats , that add value to design and encourage perfect enjoyment

DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?

YS : Wood , metal and marble

DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?

YS : It's a combination of different and contrast feelings , it's period I become off , specially at fist stage .

DI: What makes a design successful?

YS : The unfamiliar elements relations , contrasts, practicality and details .

DI: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?

YS : - I am rating my designs as : good to Improve it , I have to Improve it or forget it . But usually I fall in love directly with great designs.

DI: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?

YS : Help people to appreciate life with enjoying everything and live in a good life quality they deserve .

DI: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?

YS : The design in future depends on the of information technology intelligent which will give advance suggestions too far from the designer expectations .

DI: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?

YS : - First the nature Scenes and elements , and my client needs , or hints comes to me by interior design concept I work on as a residential projects.

DI: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?

YS : The characteristics of my design style is giving the opportunity to enjoy the different scenes from each angle look.

DI: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?

YS : A good designer has a vision progressive over the expectation .

DI: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?

YS : Hunting problem to solve it by good designs .

DI: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?

YS : Designer enjoying life , passion lead him to discover future of everything . Designer not a career it's style of life .

DI: What is your "golden rule" in design?

YS : First rule break all the rules .

DI: What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer?

YS : How this design concept came to your mind ?

DI: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?

YS : The contemporary style , I am working free and give me opportunity to I set up my rules .

DI: What are your future plans? What is next for you?

YS : Creating designs in new categories

DI: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?

YS : Sure , nothing comes by sole effort , each one in the team has his task and skills , I am so proud of my team , they believe in me , and eager .

DI: Do you have any works-in-progress being designed that you would like to talk about?

YS : - Yes , I am working on 4 different projects now ; public park furniture , outdoor furniture , lighting unite and shelves system .
