Bright Story Design Designs
We are pleased to share with you original and innovative design work by Bright Story Design.
Designer Interview of Bright Story Design:
DI: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
BSD : Bright Story Design is a communications strategy and design studio. We often help clients who have something important to say but are struggling to say it.
DI: What is "design" for you?
BSD : For us, design is all about solving complex problems in useful and unexpected ways.
DI: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
BSD : The harder the challenge, the more fun the design is. We find that design is at its best when the team doing it is highly uncomfortable.
DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
BSD : Sketch is a game-changing design app. It helps remove many of the barriers that traditional design applications have, like over complicated menus.
DI: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
BSD : We ask first-and-foremost if the design has removed the barrier that it set out to remove. In some cases, that means that we have created and effective communications piece that is impactful and attractive. While at other times, this means we have helped to create a design that disappears in service of the content. We find that both approaches can be equally powerful.
DI: How do you work with companies?
BSD : Collaboration from the beginning is key. It is important that all stakeholders feel invested and contribute to the project.
DI: What is your "golden rule" in design?
BSD : The KISS principle.
DI: Who are some of your clients?
BSD : We work with clients ranging from large, international corporations to small and lean startups.
DI: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
BSD : We work as a team and often partner with project-specific industry experts.
DI: Do you have any works-in-progress being designed that you would like to talk about?
BSD : We have a new and exciting website that just launched. www.strategicnavigator.ca
DI: How can people contact you?
BSD : Our website. www.brightstorydesign.ca
DI: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
BSD : Thank you for your time!
