DI: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
SD : We from the university to the Institute is to focus on the building, to create a beautiful space has always been our ideal, to become a designer and even architects and we have been following the road.
DI: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
SD : SW Design is co-founded by the two architectural research students, from the building to the interior thinking of the possibility of a variety of space to create a better life.
DI: What is "design" for you?
SD : Design is the behavior of thinking, that is, the name and purpose of our company's creation.
DI: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
SD : Each type of space is the goal we like to challenge, but we design the most residential space, the most close to life and people's needs.
DI: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
SD : This award-winning work is one of our favorite designs, in the color of the mix and space to make our style.
DI: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
SD : Our own home, from the beginning of their own design thinking and intentions to promote to all of our cases.
DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
SD : In the course of the wood, we can feel the strong changes in space, through the carpenter master's skill to show the details of our design.
DI: When do you feel the most creative?
SD : Every time the discussion with the owners, through deep understanding and communication can always be more inspiration.
DI: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
SD : Ergonomics is our most important, how to meet the needs of users in the space scale will be our primary goal.
DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
SD : It is like listening to a song, sometimes calm and sometimes passionate.
DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
SD : As if born a child, full of sense of accomplishment and joy.
DI: What makes a design successful?
SD : The love of the design.
DI: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
SD : Everywhere in life is full of design, how to make a good design in life is the goal of each designer.
DI: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
SD : Whether the physical or digital space is the design of the field, because the convenience of the Internet will be the future trend of globalization, the culture will be more compatible with each design.
DI: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?
SD : Space itself is the exhibition hall, so each of our design is their best exhibition is the exhibition space.
DI: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
SD : We love traveling, through our travels we enrich our vision and mind, experience more space and culture.
DI: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
SD : We actually do not have a specific style, we respect each user also pay attention to each space environment, from people and space to extend out of each of our design ideas.
DI: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
SD : We live in Taiwan, although it is a small island that is full of diversity, where the material and the workers are many good sources of design.
DI: How do you work with companies?
SD : Of course there will be a contract, the most important thing is to trust and understand each other.
DI: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
SD : Respect for the design is the most important, from the designer's work to find the direction of the company want to style.
DI: Can you talk a little about your design process?
SD : Base exploration and analysis, the needs of the owner to understand, design style design, design details, construction details, to the overall design of the presentation.
DI: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?
SD : Table, sofa, chandelier, curtain, window chair.
DI: Can you describe a day in your life?
SD : Always spent in the design and discussion of supervisors and food.
DI: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
SD : Life experience will be the design of nutrients, more travel experience and absorb more design inspiration.
DI: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?
SD : Design practice, whether to implement their own design ideas and implementation.
DI: What is your "golden rule" in design?
SD : Happy, designers and users can feel the design of the beautiful.
DI: What skills are most important for a designer?
SD : The designer is the idea of the realization, and have the skills to communicate so that customer trust and choice is also an important part.
DI: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?
SD : The most basic is the paper, pen, computer, a picture in the book or a poster on the road will be our source of inspiration.
DI: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time?
SD : Preset a deadline, pre-set the design process.
DI: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?
SD : May be a month to six months time.

SD : From private studio to company.

SD : We are currently a team of two people.
