We, as the Designer Interviews ("DI") had the distinct pleasure and opportunity to interview award-winning, most creative and innovative Changheon Lee ("CL").
Changheon Lee is freelance designer of lch studio in South Korea. He graduate at the Architecture of Central Academy of Fine Art (CAFA) of Beijing in China at 2014. he had diploma from CAFA and he worked IROJE Architects & Planners since from 2014 to 2016. He has a wide range of interests in Architecture. Furthermore as well as he has many interests all kind of Architecture include remodeling, lighting, furniture, art and so on. The focus of his work is life of human. His primary goal in work of finding and satisfy in shortages and deficiency in our lives. He get the main objective of finding from nature for work. Gains a lot of inspiration not only in the shape of the natural things, color, but also natural phenomenon, principle of nature, etc, obtained mainly in nature. Actively reflect on this design. He wishes that people's lives will be richer and healthier in his designs.

DI: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
CL : I am always curious, and I feel joy in expressing something. The decision to become a designer is because I am very interested in life style and I want to share it with people.
DI: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
CL : lch studio is a small independent studio.
DI: What is "design" for you?
CL : Giving people a better life And make society and nature more beautiful.
DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
CL : I like rough materials. For example, rough(like Pure and natural) metals, wood, stones, etc.
DI: When do you feel the most creative?
CL : When I'm not doing a creative job, For example, when cleaning, when doing paperwork, when taking a walk
DI: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
CL : Concept, Delivery, expression and finish detail
DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
CL : fun, excitement, and naturalness.
DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
CL : feel tears.
DI: What makes a design successful?
CL : Observations and persistence.
DI: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
CL : Designers should think about society and the environment in many ways. The design results are long-lasting. They affect our lives a lot. If it's simply designed to make money, it's death.
DI: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
CL : It seems to be becoming more digital.I fear this part of the world.Many things will be convenient, but they will lose many things.A lot of trivial feelings, textures.
DI: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
CL : Nature and things surrounding things
DI: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
CL : Republic of Korea, Sometimes the negative aspects of society are inspired by me.
DI: Can you talk a little about your design process?
CL : It is still independent designer, so I work mainly on computer.
DI: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?
CL : Windows, pots, tea, paper and pens
DI: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
CL : Let's challenge ourselves.
DI: What skills are most important for a designer?
CL : Observation, presentation, persuasion
DI: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?
CL : Pen, paper, and computer programs
DI: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time?
CL : Determine the amount of work to be done per day.
DI: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?
CL : These days, I am interested in architecture.
DI: What are your future plans? What is next for you?
CL : I am not sure about future plans.Keep challenging oneself. Feel nervous.
