DI: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?

MSGH : I’ve paid attention to details since my childhood and it’s been always a question for me:”what’s the fountain of differences in the productions we use?!”. I always loved the linkage between art and industry. Thereafter, I realized that industrial designing can take me to where I could create these differences myself. The legends of my life were not actors or football players but the designers, and I always wanted to be like them.

DI: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?

MSGH : Our studio comprises of a twosome who have been cooperating on different projects for more than 8 years and during the period, we achieved a particular evolution in furtherance of projects

DI: What is "design" for you?

MSGH : We’re alive because we design.

DI: What kinds of works do you like designing most?

MSGH : Works which have more to do with innovations and we avoid designing stereotype products.

DI: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?

MSGH : A chess set, by my self. It is called Game of intuition.

DI: What was the first thing you designed for a company?

MSGH : A warning triangle for an Iranian company.

DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?

MSGH : Carbon element,CNC machines

DI: When do you feel the most creative?

MSGH : When we reach a revolutionary thing while accomplishing an idea.

DI: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?

MSGH : Future plus Humanity.

DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?

MSGH : Endless fun

DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?

MSGH : Pride & Victory

DI: What makes a design successful?

MSGH : Systematic thinking.

DI: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?

MSGH : View of the designer of the product.

DI: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?

MSGH : A designer can create a world in which people would enjoy themselves.

DI: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?

MSGH : Designing is a fresh and immortal field.

DI: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?

MSGH : IDIRAN exhibition in Iran, 2016 and Fuller exhibition in America, 2017

DI: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?

MSGH : philosophy

DI: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?

MSGH : From mind identity which is achieved by evolution of idea expansion.

DI: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?

MSGH : Attitude of the designer/ designing company (identity).

DI: How do you work with companies?

MSGH : We are in contact as freelancers.

DI: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?

MSGH : Emphasizing the identity of the brand over temporary factors and interest rates

DI: Can you talk a little about your design process?

MSGH : Our team starts with drafting a subject. Then, in a procedure which starts with gathering information, continued by inspecting thousands of factors and considering dos and don’ts, it’ll attain the output for the design strategy. Finally, in respect to the intended identity, they present the design.

DI: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?

MSGH : Devialet Phantom,mac pro,Victorinox knife,...

DI: Can you describe a day in your life?

MSGH : I wake up at 9 o’ clock in the morning, have coffee and biscuit and after taking a shower and getting dressed, I head for the studio. At the studio, I start discussing on designs with my partner. While working, I have compact and high-energy foods. At 9 o’ clock I go back home, listen to music and follow the news on new sciences and technologies, read books and prepare my equipments for the next day. Then, I get to sleep.

DI: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?

MSGH : Avoid the stereotypes and make the special method of your own but in law-abiding framework. Try not to be like anybody, you’re unique.

DI: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?

MSGH : (+)To be consistent, considering details, making effort for evolution and continuous learning (-) Sometimes, I get tired of excessive perception and paying attention.

DI: What is your "golden rule" in design?

MSGH : Think like nobody can.

DI: What skills are most important for a designer?

MSGH : Systematic thinking.

DI: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?

MSGH : Designer’s perdurable friend, pen. Softwares like rhino,photoshop,3d studio max, speed form,...

DI: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time?

MSGH : I try to do both of these tasks together.

DI: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?

MSGH : Depends on the kind of project but I don’t usually hurry. I hate the errors found after designing.

DI: What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer?

MSGH : About my our projects.

DI: What was your most important job experience?

MSGH : Designing management services for refugees

DI: Who are some of your clients?

MSGH : I’m not allowed to publish

DI: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?

MSGH : Tasks which should be done for the first time, because we encounter with interesting things in the procedure.

DI: What are your future plans? What is next for you?

MSGH : Creating a personal style and identity in designing

DI: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?

MSGH : Yes, definitely

DI: Do you have any works-in-progress being designed that you would like to talk about?

MSGH : Yes, but not allowed to publish
