GraceHui is a new fine jewelry brand founded by XuehuiLiu in 2016. After one year of development, GraceHui now owns 7 collections, more than 80 different type of brand new designs. In 2017, GraceHui welcomed new shareholder Crownname United Co.,Ltd. With the new investment, GraceHui expands the border in marketing and production. Now personalized design/production services (B2B & B2C), online & offline retails are available in whole China. Xuehui Liu graduated from Academy of Art University, San Francisco. Immersed in the artistic environment of this 90-year-old Art University, Grace developed her special taste for natural beauty and unique perspective of life. “Explicit beauty” is the soul of Grace’ work. Jewelry is normally just an attachment to dressings but it is also the most explicit sign of taste. Grace’s design aims at enabling women to bravely be themselves and show their preferences. One woman, one jewelry, others are just attachments and decorations.

Designer Interview of Xuehui Liu:

DI: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?

XL : The answer is negative. In fact, I was a business student before 2013. After graduating from a degree in finance and accounting, I carefully considered my future and discovered my passion for design.The work status and the design itself make me very comfortable.

DI: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?

XL : After graduating from jewelry and Metal art in 16 years, I briefly worked as an early childhood art teacher in the United States. Then return to the country to create their own jewelry brand ‘Grace H’

DI: What is "design" for you?

XL : Hobbies and habits

DI: What kinds of works do you like designing most?

XL : The two major types of design are very interesting to me. The first is the design that can solve problems in life; the second is to express the beauty in life.

DI: What was the first thing you designed for a company?

XL : it's a kite jewelry series. Because I have been abroad for 6 years, I haven’t felt the summer of my hometown for a long time. The summer of my hometown,there are many kites in the sky. At the same time, I expressed my thoughts for my grandfather. When I was little, my grandfather was carrying me flying kites.

DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?

XL : Gold/Enemal

DI: When do you feel the most creative?

XL : After a good sleep

DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?

XL : I feel calm

DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?

XL : Feel happy from my deep heart

DI: What makes a design successful?

XL : I think the most important thing for a design work to be successful is to see if it is practical. For daily use or decoration, whether or not it really plays the role it should play is the most important point.

DI: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?

XL : This is a good question. I think you can or can't stand on the user’s point of view to make an objective assessment, it's the most important point in deciding a wether a good designer.

DI: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?

XL : Spread a healthy lifestyle.

DI: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?

XL : My work is inspired by everyday life. I hope that my work can solve some problems people often encounter. My design works fall into two categories, one of which was born to solve problems. One is to praise the beauty of life. (Including natural and humanistic)
