Designer Interview of Yvonne Chow Ngai Hung:

DI: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?

YCNH : I love painting since kid

DI: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?

YCNH : Envisione is our design studio’s name. Eric Chak & I set up the company in 2017. We have designed more than 900,000 square feet office space since then, in two years, most of them in HK but some of them in Tokyo, Guangzhou & Malaysia as well.

DI: What is "design" for you?

YCNH : Design is my passion. Love any creative thing, including architecture, graphic, art, fashion, music, food, book...

DI: What kinds of works do you like designing most?

YCNH : Work space. Our work & life is blending into each other. So work space is part of your life space. Create beautiful, happy & healthy work space is my top passion.

DI: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?

YCNH : Frank Gery’s Bilbao’s museum in Spain. The space, the shape, the material, the contrast... so brilliant & amazing

DI: What was the first thing you designed for a company?

YCNH : My own company? A small co-working space in HK Exhibition Center.

DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?

YCNH : Don’t want to fix to one or two materials. Each project, each client is unique, so always use different material. But I like to create interesting space without using too many walls.

DI: When do you feel the most creative?

YCNH : When I listening to a lovely music and drinking a glass of gin tonic...

DI: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?

YCNH : The whole process

DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?

YCNH : Like in love with someone
