More than 15+ years of work experiences in IOT, Voice Assistant, Mobile Platform, AR, VR, AI UI/UX design. Worked for the top companies in the world, such as ACCESS, ZTE, China Mobile, Honeywell as design manager or director. Project management , Six Sigma Green Belt certificated. Designed the first Linux Mobile Platform for ACCESS. Products won the Successful Design Award, Outstanding Product Award for Logistics Industry , etc. Currently working on applying AR and AI to Industry Safety products, to make devices and people be connected and safe.

DI: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?

YS : Previously I was working in Telecomm field. Hobbies. Yes.

DI: What is "design" for you?

YS : Balance between form and creative

DI: What was the first thing you designed for a company?

YS : Mobile UI interface

DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?

YS : AR and AI

DI: When do you feel the most creative?

YS : Late at night when I am alone

DI: What makes a design successful?

YS : impress users

DI: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?

YS : fixed the pain points and match the user needs

DI: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?

YS : change and benefit

DI: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?

YS : evolve with human needs. Make the world to be better

DI: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?

YS : From reseller and my own experience of buying from online store

DI: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?

DI: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?

YS : When I interviewed designers, I feel female designers are too shy to express themselves. People should think they are equal in any ways, both design and in daily work and act equally.

DI: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?

YS : kettle, looks well designed but difficult to use.

DI: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?

YS : don't think too much about what I should do at 30 or 40, 30 or 40 will come in the near future

DI: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?

YS : be creative, ban by technology
