We, as the Designer Interviews ("DI") had the distinct pleasure and opportunity to interview award-winning, most creative and innovative Sanaz Ghafari ("SG").
Sanaz Ghafari was born in 1990 in Isfahan, Iran, where she still lives and works. Having grown up next to the river and traditional architecture which help people to be creative. Throughout her life, Sanaz has always been interested in art. In her practice in the field of art since 2007, she fascinated by jewelry design and holds Bachelor's and master's degrees in metal handicraft with the major of make and design of jewelry. After completing her degree she tries more to achieve professional experience in her major. She has several different national exhibitions from 2008 to 2020, and co-operate with jewelry makers. Sanaz has won several prizes until now. She is trying to increase her skills in jewelry design every day because she thinks the art and specially jewelry design can create a more beautiful world.

Designer Interview of Sanaz Ghafari:
DI: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
SG : I started learning art since 17 years ago in a country which is known by its art - Iran -. Always explore the details is really attractive for me and art is one of the best way to deal with it.
DI: What is "design" for you?
SG : explore the truth of the world and communicate to people
DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
SG : My eyes and after that my ability to Visualization But from material perspective, I think the ability to draw by hand is the more important to the other techniques or etc
DI: When do you feel the most creative?
SG : In the nature
DI: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
SG : the meaning as equal the beauty
DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
SG : peace of mind
DI: What makes a design successful?
SG : When a design can show a new attitude to old things
DI: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
SG : for creativity we should search for different stories. either from books, movies, people and etc. It does not important where they are generated just you should the stories to create a new story
DI: What is your "golden rule" in design?
SG : Creativity
DI: What skills are most important for a designer?
SG : Learn from each details in the life, environment, and life
DI: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?
SG : I am really fascinated by books - actually by stories - and they are as a dominant source of my inspiration. After that I use hand drawing and software
DI: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?
SG : It really depends on the type of design and it cannot be say a specific time
DI: What was your most important job experience?
SG : To explore the truth by art
DI: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?
SG : I do not consider a design just from a commercial aspect and so I enjoy from working - a design - when it is consider as an artwork. Overall, I enjoy when do an artwork not a design
DI: What are your future plans? What is next for you?
SG : Try and try to become a professional designer
DI: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
SG : I have worked as a freelancer until now, although I always interests be as a member of a professional team work
