Designer Interview of Mohammad Amin Moradi:

DI: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?

MAM : I have always loved art and design, So I studied architecture at university, but years later after I got my masters in architecture I found Jewelry designing fascinating and since then I've found my way inside jewelry design.

DI: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?

MAM : Delmor purpose is to make specific jewelry designs and custom made designs for any tastes.

DI: What is "design" for you?

MAM : It is a possession to me. Designing makes me feel alive and creativity makes me feel powerful. It feels great to design a piece based on your imaginations and see how it comes real.

DI: What kinds of works do you like designing most?

MAM : I like historical and architectural jewelry designs. I also like nature-inspired designing, but I believe everything in this beautiful world can be a subject for a magnificent design.

DI: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?

MAM : I can't say I have a favorite since there are lots of fascinating designs in all fields and I honestly cant choose one.

DI: What was the first thing you designed for a company?

MAM : It was a bypass engagement ring designed for a company in Iran which unfortunately I can't name.

DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?

MAM : I like working with MatrixGold for CAD designing and Keyshot for rendering.

DI: When do you feel the most creative?

MAM : my most creative moments are late at nights when I'm about going to sleep, but sometimes It's when I'm having intense feelings,

DI: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?

MAM : being practical while beautiful, and I enjoy focusing on details.

DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?

MAM : I feel confident and I feel like I'm growing more after every design.

DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?

MAM : I feel I'm on right track, and It's a powerful feeling and a combination of succeed and relief.

DI: What makes a design successful?

MAM : Since people have different tastes, designing something that most people would like, makes a design successful.

DI: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?

MAM : Details being placed right is the first aspect that I would consider. Design being practical while showing the concept comes next.

DI: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?

MAM : Designers are an important part of a society that can bring hope and happiness to other people in society. Also using material and techniques that have lesser negative effect on the environment should be considered by a designer.

DI: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?

MAM : Design itself can make the future. Designers can turn their imaginations into reality and build a future doing that.

DI: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?

MAM : Everything can inspire me, including people, their thoughts and beliefs, nature, buildings, histories and everything that is happening in world. I feed it with communicating, thinking and researching a lot. Also traveling and going on tours help a lot.

DI: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?

MAM : I don't know if I have a specific style but I always try to be detailed and to combine relative subjects into one design.

DI: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?

MAM : I was born and live in Iran and I'm sure cultural heritage does affect my designs since Iran has a rich art history. Iran heritage and historical artistry is like a university of art for every artist which is the biggest pro, But there are some limitations in designing based on heritages.

DI: How do you work with companies?

MAM : I'm a freelancer and usually I work with companies project based.

DI: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?

MAM : My suggestion to companies is to find a creative designer, trust them and allow them to grow their creativity into their designs and not to limit them only with their own ideas.

DI: Can you talk a little about your design process?

MAM : I pick a subject first, then I think and research about it, and then I think about it's designing techniques that it would be practical while beautiful and finally I start It's CAD designing.

DI: What is your "golden rule" in design?

MAM : My golden rule is that everything should look perfect by my own eyes.

DI: What skills are most important for a designer?

MAM : being acute, creative, responsible and productive beside being skilled.

DI: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?

MAM : I mostly use softwares such as MatrixGold and Keyshot.

DI: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time?

MAM : I try to work and design on a certain schedule. Sometimes It doesn't work but most of the times It does.

DI: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?

MAM : It depends on the design, It might take half an hour to weeks.

DI: How can people contact you?
