We, as the Designer Interviews ("DI") had the distinct pleasure and opportunity to interview award-winning, most creative and innovative Andrea Brunazzi ("AB").
Who I am? A curious person, nature lover, passionate about old cars and outdoor sports. Colors, lights, sensations bring out new solutions, inspirations for different graphics, a new shape, an idea not yet tested. I would travel all the time to "refresh myself" from distant countries, other cultures ... Nature inspires me, art fascinates me, Italy is my country!

Designer Interview of Andrea Brunazzi:
DI: Could you please tell us more about your art and design background? What made you become an artist/designer? Have you always wanted to be a designer?
AB : I was 14 when I discovered the architect role. I remember Alberto Ponis beautiful villas design in the wonderful Sardinia. Architecture was my dream.
DI: Can you tell us more about your company / design studio?
AB : We have a fast moving studio with flexible roles. We work in an effective and quick response open space. The quick and fresh project response is really appreciate by our clients.
DI: What is "design" for you?
AB : Design is like creativity: an unexpected solution to a logically exposed problem.
DI: What kinds of works do you like designing most?
AB : Everything. I would like to have more project in the boat field.
DI: What is your most favorite design, could you please tell more about it?
AB : I am a fanatic of details. The next project would be the most loved one.
DI: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
AB : An exhibition for a the Motor Museum in 1989
DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
AB : I love wood and Iron. Pre-fabricated houses are the future.
DI: When do you feel the most creative?
AB : Our job can be managed anywhere. I need a couple of project at the same time.
DI: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
AB : Avoid material waist.
DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
AB : Before and after provide me a feeling of good design and problem solving.
DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
AB : A new baby. Finally!
DI: What makes a design successful?
AB : If provides good vibes and positive feeling to the user and the oserver.
DI: When judging a design as good or bad, which aspects do you consider first?
AB : Easy to be produced? Production cost? Clever material choice?
DI: From your point of view, what are the responsibilities of a designer for society and environment?
AB : As designer we must reduce waist and energy cost. As Architect we are guilty for major disaster and social diesase.
DI: How do you think the "design field" is evolving? What is the future of design?
AB : We can change the habits of million people. Design has to be part of every product. Without exception.
DI: When was your last exhibition and where was it? And when do you want to hold your next exhibition?
AB : I don't trust exhibition.
DI: Where does the design inspiration for your works come from? How do you feed your creativity? What are your sources of inspirations?
AB : Bauhaus pure volumes. Organic shapes.
DI: How would you describe your design style? What made you explore more this style and what are the main characteristics of your style? What's your approach to design?
AB : Remove everything is not necessary.
DI: Where do you live? Do you feel the cultural heritage of your country affects your designs? What are the pros and cons during designing as a result of living in your country?
AB : I am in Torino, north west Italy. A Car manufacturer historical site. The city is finally changing with the reduction of cars and grows other products.
DI: How do you work with companies?
AB : In a quick low formal approach. Creative staff involved in client contact immediately.
DI: What are your suggestions to companies for working with a designer? How can companies select a good designer?
AB : Lissen to designer. Don't brief them.
DI: Can you talk a little about your design process?
AB : Understanding the production process. Approach with a lateral thinking idea and share other projects experience.
DI: What are 5 of your favorite design items at home?
AB : No idea. Is full of nice design.
DI: Can you describe a day in your life?
AB : Early wake up and late dinner!
DI: Could you please share some pearls of wisdom for young designers? What are your suggestions to young, up and coming designers?
AB : Have the freshness of a child and discover all.
DI: From your perspective, what would you say are some positives and negatives of being a designer?
AB : Today is a low budget cost! Agree royalties instead!
DI: What is your "golden rule" in design?
AB : Never be satisfied.
DI: What skills are most important for a designer?
AB : Understand a little of many of thinks.
DI: Which tools do you use during design? What is inside your toolbox? Such as software, application, hardware, books, sources of inspiration etc.?
AB : Few software and a small block notes.
DI: Designing can sometimes be a really time consuming task, how do you manage your time?
AB : I stop after too many hours spent.
DI: How long does it take to design an object from beginning to end?
AB : my last project was a 10 minutes sketch. 14 years to build it. Who knows?
DI: What is the most frequently asked question to you, as a designer?
AB : How much you cost?
DI: What was your most important job experience?
AB : All my project are important.
DI: Who are some of your clients?
AB : Companies and entrepeneurs.
DI: What type of design work do you enjoy the most and why?
AB : House design, unconventional spaces make exciting lifestyle.
DI: What are your future plans? What is next for you?
AB : Build an holiday village.
DI: Do you work as a team, or do you develop your designs yourself?
AB : Is a mix of team and alone thinking.
DI: Do you have any works-in-progress being designed that you would like to talk about?
AB : Many house refurbishment in progress.
