Designer Interview of Seyyedeh Shadi Ghoreishi:
DI: What was the first thing you designed for a company?
SSG : I started my job with designing fences and balastrades. Our first client was very impressed with our design and after the first successful project, I was assigned to deliver more complex design projects.
DI: What is your favorite material / platform / technology?
SSG : I think I love working with natural and sustainable materials. It's a process of give and take. I would like to contribute in protecting our planet. Having said that I am interested in seeing how technology can contribute to this process. With bigger projects such as a building, I would like to use BIM management systems as we need to.
DI: When do you feel the most creative?
SSG : I feel either morning time or late nights would work for me. As long as I am sitting at my desk or being in the office, I feel comfortable being productive and creative.
DI: Which aspects of a design do you focus more during designing?
SSG : I would like to think about the aspects of design which gives the project an individual character and response to the project needs.
DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when you design?
SSG : Emotions are always involved in the design process and for me they are the main drivers of the project. Feeling something special and specific depend on what we as designers would perceive.
DI: What kind of emotions do you feel when your designs are realized?
SSG : A sense of connection. It makes me happy that it was understood and the design ideas can communicate.The sense that the project has got what it needed to receive and as a mediator, I was successful in making it happen.
DI: How can people contact you?
SSG : Through social media, my LinkedIn account would be the best though as it's very easy to find.
DI: Any other things you would like to cover that have not been covered in these questions?
SSG : I think the main driver for a designer is ambition. If a designer can realise how to use it. I feel connected with humble design projects.
